Morgan was featured in an informative film Safe Sex for Men and Women about AIDS prevention and education. The proceeds was donated to the American Foundation for AIDS Research. She is also on the Entertainment Industry AIDS Task Force. Morgan spearheaded other fund raising projects and also gave testimony to a special Congressional panel discussing AIDS awareness. Morgan is a member of the Board of Governors of APLA, and of Amfar's Board of Directors. Former Surgeon-General C. Everett Koop has been asked to be his substitute in AIDS celebrations and she's hosted an AIDS Awareness Special together with anchorman Steve Bell. Ted Koppell asked her to appear twice on Nightline in relation to AIDS. Morgan won the Emmy Award for Diane English's special Murphy Brown episode that was written just for Morgan. In the spring, she appeared as Joan Rivers on ABC's Your Money or Your Wife. The summer started with Murder At The PTA Luncheon that was created by Von Zeerneck and Sertner. Marla Gibbs and Cindy Williams as well appeared. In her next role, Harmony Gold produced Sherlock Holmes and the Leading Lady together with Christopher Lee and Patrick McNee. Morgan played a part in the psychological suspense thriller made exclusively for the USA Network garnering one of the biggest ratings in the history of the network.
